Happy Sunday

Riley is just so happy and fun. I know we are "first time parents" and a bit biased :) but really...just watching her jump and play and smile and laugh...it just doesn't get any better.

STATS

We took Riley for her 6 month appointment a couple of weeks ago, and happy to report she is happy and healthy! A whopping 14 1/2 pounds and 24 inches long. I am sure she will be getting chunkier and she is quite enjoying "real" food these days! She can put away a helping of sweet potatoes like no other! We love and miss all of you and thank you for your prayers for all of us:)

Maine: Whoopie Pies for all!!!

After visiting the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse we stopped at this wonderful diner called "Moody's". OH HOW DELICIOUS! We had fish and chips, and for dessert mom and I had the "Mainers" traditional Whoopie Pie. None of us had ever heard of such things till Lanna and family came to Maine. So, to honor our trip to Maine we tried the local faire...Mom wasn't too sure of them, but I thought they were great!

Maine: Pemequid Lighthouse

Wow! What a sight! The granite filled rocks were so striking not to mention the view of the Atlantic ocean. To learn more about this lighthouse visit Leanna's blog, www.themainestream.blogspot.com. I just remember what a fun time we had climbing all over the rocks, trying to figure out how to get the lighthouse keepers house to Hudson, CO, and noticing how weird the sun wasn't setting over the ocean like I'm used to!!

Maine: Boothbay Harbor

Boothbay Harbor was pretty fun. Like the true Pacific Northwesterners we are, we searched the whole town for a coffee shop that was open! Apparently not much goes on around there before Memorial Day. After we got our mocha/latte fix we headed down the boardwalk over the water. You could see all the lobstah (as they say it) boats and such. Notice the rare sighting of Leanna--in front of the camera!!!

Bedtime with Cousins

Riley loves her Cousins Xander and Caden

Bed time with Auntie Emmy and Riley is SUPER FUN!

Caden's cool bed tent...why sleep in an ordinary bed when you could have a bed with flair???

Maine: Sand Beach part 2

I think we could have spent all day here!

Maine: Sand Beach Part 1

WOW! What a cool beach. Soft sand, the roar of the ocean...nothing is better than some fresh ocean air. And, Riley has officially become bi-coastal! She has been to the Pacific ocean to the Atlantic ocean all in the span of one month! She is an awesome traveller. I should note, much like the beaches of the Pacific Northwest, the water here was cold!!!

Maine: Bar Harbor

A couple of weeks ago, Mom helped Leanna bring the kids back to Maine from Oregon, but Mom needed a buddy to travel back to Oregon with her--Riley and Emmy to the rescue! The last time Riley was in Maine she was still in my belly...so this time she got to "see" Maine! We had a great time. So, finally ( you can thank our lovely dial-up service) I am posting pics from our adventure :)

It's official...Riley loves LOBSTER TAIL!

Caden and "Ridey" as he likes to call her...a couple of kindred spirits...
